This design is for a large catering company that closely collaborates with startups in the culinary sector. The program includes a large kitchen, an innovative kitchen lab, office spaces for various business departments, and logistical storage spaces.

The location is situated along the access road of the Rosmalense Plas work landscape in ‘s-Hertogenbosch. The municipality has developed an ambitious urban planning and visual quality plan for a green and representative business park. These conditions align well with the client’s desire to create a strong identity that shows affinity with the existing nearby headquarters. For good urban integration, we have designed a composite volume consisting of two separate, readable parts. The visible corner of the plot shows a material affinity with the headquarters. The ‘rear building,’ which wraps around the volume, connects with the already realized dark halls that have an industrial character.

Sustainability

 

In designing this business building, significant attention has been given to sustainability and a healthy work environment, with the well-being of employees as the top priority. We choose materials with low environmental impact and biobased products sourced from rapidly renewable resources. Adaptability is essential for a work building. Therefore, a circular design has been chosen, where building elements can be easily disassembled and reused. This contributes to a sustainable and future-proof work environment.
